"Diagnostics" feee of 140 $ is ridiculous. I should've just bought a scanner for 80 $ and would've got the same results myself. The only difference being that I wouldn't have suggested a needless expensive repair. My check engine light cleared itself after the first trip on the highway of the season. Your diagnostics fee should be refunded. I am also upset that my tires weren't rotated as I asked. Especially after finding out that the techs would be taking my tires off anyway aa a part of the service package I was already purchasing. Is it really that hard to have the mechanic swap tires from front to back when he puts them back on? We are talking about literally moving a tire a couple of feet, rather than just putting it back on the same hub it came off... I think I've wrote enough, my last comment would be this. Your tech suggested that I need rear brakes (20% left) and for some reason is suggesting rotors as well? I can definately tell you that I won't be coming to your shoo for this service unless you refund the diagnostics fee of 140$. |
Shop Comment I'm sorry to hear you're not happy about the diagnostic charge, Rob. As Richard tried to explain to you, there is a lot more to diagnostics than retrieving codes. If an $80 code retriever would make you feel competent to diagnose your own vehicle then I would suggest you do so and bring the vehicle here or to any shop of your choice to continue with the diagnosis if you hit a road block. Just so people know, AML spends upwards of $30,000 a year on diagnostic equipment, training and software. Having been involved in electronic and fuel injection diagnostics since the 80's, I learned long ago that it takes more than a code to diagnose most faults. As for your vehicle, I checked my work sheet, which shows my test results. The work recommended was proven in the service bay. Could it have remedied itself? Probably not permanently, but it may be intermittent. As for the tire rotation, Rob, Richard had suggested doing this at the time of the brake work, as the wheels would be coming off at that time anyway. Most modern vehicles do not require wheel removal to inspect the brakes with a maintenance inspection because the rims allow plenty of space to see the brakes and, at least at AML, require additional time on our part to clean the hubs and mating surfaces to ensure proper wheel fastening. |

Although I usually trust AML this time I left my car for a cold start...felt like I had left a blank cheque. I expected a new battery and fuel lines injection to be rectified but other things not asked for were done. sure they fixed my hand brake problems but also went ahead and changed filters and reconditioned A/C which was not asked for. Bill was $860+ . I would like AML to remember that I am a pensioner on a fixed income and that you need my permission and understanding of issues before you go ahead and do things. This could have been done in 2 sessions over 2 months! |

I had a battery replaced, the next day my car would not start again. After checking it over, I realized the ground had not been properly connected. A small error, but enough to inconvenience me. Not sure how that was overlooked. Staff themselved were courteous and attentive. |

Excellent analysis and replacement of front rotors and brakes on my Sebring car.!( |

The first time I went to your shop it cost me about $500 for work that did not solve the problem. The second time I was there for 8 hours for a job that should have taken 2 hours. Needless to say, I won't be back |
